Vietnamese hospitality operator Vinpearl has announced the simultaneous opening of multiple developments within the ESG++ Vinhomes Green Paradise Can Gio mega-city, scheduled for 1 July 2027.
The developments form part of the 2,870-hectare Vinhomes Green Paradise urban project. Designed around international urban planning, environmental and governance standards, the scheme is the first official candidate in the global “7 Future Urban Wonders” voting campaign organised by New7Wonders.
Central to the launch is VinWonders Can Gio, a 122-hectare theme park complex split into three zones: Global Festival, Safari Festival and Water Festival. The site will feature nearly 300 rides and schedule 30 daily shows.
The project also includes two 155-hectare, 36-hole golf courses designed by Robert Trent Jones II and Tiger Woods. The Sunrise course is built as Asia’s first 18-hole coastal layout recreating historic course designs, while the Sunset course applies Woods’ strategic layout style across steep inclines and multi-tiered greens.
In addition to sports facilities, the site will introduce 137 beachfront villas alongside the Vinpearl Dream Palace Hotel, a themed luxury venue based on time travel across historic civilisations. A range of boutique properties will also mark the local debut of global hotel chains including Best Western, ibis, ibis Styles and JO&JOE.
A second phase will follow on 1 November 2027 with the opening of the 7-hectare Song Xanh Convention Centre and Theatre. Designed by architectural firm Gensler, the facility comprises a convention venue for nearly 10,000 visitors and the 5,000-seat Song Xanh Theatre, which will become the largest performance space in Southeast Asia.
Commenting on the initiative, Ms. Ngo Thi Huong, General Director of Vinpearl, said: “The world’s top destinations are always built upon ecosystems of sufficient scale to attract tourists. With Can Gio, we are not just operating individual entertainment, resort, or sports facilities, but are jointly creating a new destination with a scale, diversity, and quality of experience at an international level. If Orlando, Osaka, or Singapore have become names on the global tourism map, we expect Can Gio to make Ho Chi Minh City and Vietnam a new landmark on that map.”
