Hyatt Hotels Corporation has announced that Secrets Playa Mujeres Golf & Spa Resort is once again welcoming guests after a major period of renovation. The adults-only, all-inclusive retreat has been completely updated to offer a more modern and refined experience for travellers in the Caribbean.
The resort is situated just 35 minutes from Cancun International Airport within the private Playa Mujeres community. It is well known for its Greg Norman-designed golf course and its position on a stretch of white-sand beach. As part of the new look, all 424 suites have been redesigned with a coastal theme that uses natural textures and soft colour palettes. The aim of the new layout is to create a more relaxing and intimate environment for visitors.
Significant changes have also been made to the resort’s exclusive Preferred Club. This area now includes a new two-storey building with its own check-in lounge on the ground floor and a dedicated ocean-view restaurant above. A newly built private beach club has also been added to the site to provide a quieter space for guests to watch the sunset.
Mauricio Martinez, general manager of Secrets Playa Mujeres Golf & Spa Resort, said: “We are thrilled to debut the newly renovated Secrets Playa Mujeres Golf & Spa Resort following extensive enhancements to elevate the guest experience. The resort delivers Secrets Resorts & Spas signature blend of romance, relaxation, and elevated experiences, while also offering guests seeking a more active getaway access to a world-class golf course and a unique mix of leisure and stunning coastal scenery that truly sets it apart.”
Public spaces have been rearranged to make the resort easier to navigate. The Rendezvous lobby bar has moved to the former main lobby, and the check-in desk is now located closer to the guest rooms. While much of the work is complete, further updates to the Secrets Spa and the Bordeaux restaurant are expected to be finished by mid-February. Guests staying at the property will continue to have free access to the neighbouring Dreams Playa Mujeres resort for additional dining and leisure activities.
