New Murabba, the infrastructure firm backed by the Public Investment Fund, has entered a strategic partnership with the Ministry of Municipalities and Housing (MOMAH). The Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) was signed by H.E. Ihab Hashani, Deputy Minister of Municipalities and Housing, and Michael Dyke, Chief Executive of New Murabba.
The agreement focuses on the integration of land use for major projects across Riyadh. It specifically targets the New Murabba destination to ensure the site’s development remains consistent with MOMAH’s national objectives. Both parties have agreed to work together on the exchange of information and the coordination of development regulations.
A primary goal of the deal is the enhancement of green space strategies. This includes defining the scale of local greening efforts and establishing design standards for sidewalks to improve traffic safety. The partnership will draw on international best practices for city centre redevelopment. It also aims to introduce technical manuals for construction and launch community programmes designed to benefit both residents and the surrounding areas.
Under the new terms, the architectural identity of New Murabba will be closely aligned with Ministry goals to reflect the wider Saudi Vision for urban housing. The agreement also sets out a process for qualifying real estate developers and contractors. Furthermore, the two organisations will review strategic plans for smart city development and share knowledge gained from global cooperation programmes. The Ministry has also pledged to support PropTech initiatives intended to improve sustainability across the project.
New Murabba continues to seek partnerships with both public and private sector bodies. These collaborations are viewed as essential for meeting the destination’s targets and contributing to the national goals for sustainable development.
