RUA Al-Haram Al-Makki Company (RUA) has entered into a collaboration agreement with MRCB International Sdn Bhd to explore a major transit-oriented scheme in Makkah. The proposed project carries an indicative Gross Development Value of roughly SAR 21 billion. Final progression remains subject to due diligence, regulatory approvals, project phasing and definitive agreements.

The agreement was formally signed in Kuala Lumpur by RUA Chief Executive Officer Bambang Kajairi and MRCB Group Managing Director Dato’ Imran Salim. The signing was witnessed by PIF Governor Yasir Othman Al-Rumayyan, PIF Head of Local Real Estate Investment Division Saad Abdulaziz Al-Kroud, MRCB Chairman Dato’ Mohamad Nasir Ab Latif and MRCB Land Chairman Tan Sri Mohd Annuar Zaini.

Under the proposed plans, the development will evaluate a public bus terminal surrounded by residential, commercial and retail components within King Salman Gate. The partnership aims to draw on MRCB’s experience in transit-oriented hubs, notably referencing its KL Sentral project in Malaysia. Beyond transport infrastructure, both organisations plan to examine supporting services to simplify journeys, enhance accessibility and raise service quality for pilgrims visiting Makkah.

The collaborative framework establishes a pathway to introduce international capital and development experience into King Salman Gate while RUA retains overall vision stewardship. The project aligns with Saudi Vision 2030 objectives by improving infrastructure and capacity for international visitors while preserving Makkah’s local heritage.

As a Public Investment Fund company, RUA Al-Haram Al-Makki acts as master developer for King Salman Gate, establishing structured channels for global institutions to participate in Makkah’s urban growth.
