Sun Group, Vietnam National Petroleum Group (Petrolimex) and National Commercial Bank (NCB) signed comprehensive strategic cooperation agreements in Phu Quoc on 22 September 2026.

The partnership expands operational links across energy, finance, tourism, insurance, infrastructure and services. As part of the arrangement, Sun PhuQuoc Airways and Petrolimex Aviation Joint Stock Company entered into a memorandum of understanding to broaden cooperation regarding aviation fuel.

The agreement allows Petrolimex to leverage its core competencies in energy sourcing, distribution, logistics and large-scale supply organisation. Petrolimex and its subsidiaries will research and deliver long-term energy solutions to support Sun Group’s investment, construction and operational developments. Both businesses plan to exploit existing services and strengths across their combined networks to boost value for clients and staff.

Sun Group expects the alliance to secure stable energy supplies for its expanding operational footprint. The two organisations will explore green energy efficiency, electric vehicle charging points, rooftop solar power installations and integrated energy utilities for Sun Group developments, prioritising initial deployment in Phu Quoc.

On a corporate level, the firms agreed to expand collaboration into Sustainable Aviation Fuels (SAF), researching methods to lower emissions and advance energy transition within aviation. Sun PhuQuoc Airways and Petrolimex Aviation will also partner on airport fuel supply and infrastructure development.

Simultaneously, Petrolimex and NCB signed an agreement for financial solutions aimed at optimising capital efficiency and cash flow management. NCB will provide banking services with preferential terms across the Sun Group, NCB and VISA ecosystem, while prioritising capital allocation and credit solutions for Petrolimex petroleum projects involving Sun Group.

The collaboration comes as Vietnam prepares to host the APEC 2027 Summit in Phu Quoc. The event imposes strict requirements on local transportation, energy, aviation and infrastructure. The partnership aims to provide resources during event preparation while establishing a foundation for long-term regional development.
