GO Residential REIT has agreed to purchase 27 properties from H&R REIT for approximately US$2.8 billion. The deal expands GO's presence across the US Sunbelt region and New York City, adding nearly 13,300 suites to its portfolio. Following completion in late 2026, the combined entity will become Canada's second-largest publicly traded residential REIT by enterprise value while improving its leverage profile.
Property giant Greystar has confirmed a new partnership with Dallas-based operator Lantower Residential to take over its management operations. The move will see Lantower exit the property management sector entirely. Greystar is set to assume responsibility for 23 multifamily communities which represent nearly 7,900 units across the United States. The transition began on February 17 and includes two sites currently under development that are expected to begin leasing in the first quarter of 2026.
H&R REIT has entered agreements to sell retail and office properties across Canada and the United States in transactions totalling $1.5 billion. The sales, which align with the trust’s ongoing simplification strategy, will see proceeds directed toward reducing debt and shifting the portfolio further toward residential and industrial assets.
