Vietnamese developer Sun Group has formed a strategic alliance with Singaporean operator The Ascott Limited. The deal introduces 1,700 premium accommodation rooms across Ho Chi Minh City and Phu Quoc. Four distinct international hospitality brands will be deployed to capture diverse traveler demographics. Notably, the partnership debuts the lifestyle concepts lyf and HARRIS in Vietnam, aiming to prolong visitor stays and elevate local tourism competitiveness.
The Ascott Limited achieved a record-breaking 2025 by signing 19,000 units across 102 new properties. This 27 per cent year-on-year growth saw the company expand into 10 new cities including Taipei and Wellington. The firm is focusing on an asset-light model with a heavy emphasis on resort signings and property conversions. Ascott now operates or is developing over 1,000 properties globally as it nears its S$500 million fee income target.
The Ascott Limited has strengthened its European presence with seven new property signings across Vienna and Seville, totalling nearly 1,100 units. The move deepens the group’s partnership with VIE Trust Real Estate Group and expands its footprint in Spain with its first resort project in Seville’s Lagoon City.
