UK Government

New planning rules introduced across England will fast-track thousands of homes near train, tram and underground stations. Under the revised National Planning Policy Framework, applications for housing within walking distance of transport hubs will face a default approval stance alongside minimum density requirements. The reforms form part of wider UK planning changes intended to support local development, cut administrative delays and progress toward national housing targets.
The UK Government has officially granted a Development Consent Order for the Springwell Solar Farm in Lincolnshire. This major planning approval allows the joint project between EDF power solutions limited and Luminous Energy to move toward the construction phase. Once it is fully operational, the site is expected to generate enough renewable electricity to supply more than 180,000 homes every year, helping to secure the UK's future energy mix.
