The Indian Hotels Company Limited (IHCL) has officially launched the Taj Gangtey Resort & Spa in Phobjikha, Bhutan. This new opening marks a significant step in the company’s plan to increase its presence across the sub-continent. The project is a joint venture with Happiness Resort & Spa, involving Mr Anan Gurung and CG Hospitality Global, which is part of the CG Corp Global group.
Situated in the Phobjikha valley, the resort features 35 keys and is designed to provide guests with a peaceful retreat. The glacial valley is famous for its open meadows and natural beauty. Facilities at the new site include the Chang Lounge & Bar and a restaurant named Vista which serves local Bhutanese dishes. The property also houses a J Wellness Circle Spa, an indoor heated swimming pool and a modern fitness centre with yoga instructors.

The partnership between IHCL and CG Hospitality already operates several high-profile sites across the Middle East and the Indian Sub-Continent. Their portfolio includes the Taj Paro Resort & Spa in Bhutan and two Taj resorts in the Maldives. They also manage properties in Colombo, Dubai and Nepal, alongside luxury wildlife lodges in India.
