A new four-star hotel has officially joined the hospitality landscape near Budapest’s Liszt Ferenc International Airport. The TRIBE Budapest Airport Hotel, developed by real estate group WING, was unveiled this week at a press conference, adding fresh capacity to meet rising passenger volumes and offering a new option for travelers seeking style, convenience, and functionality.

Located adjacent to Terminal 2 and spanning 8,000 square metres over seven storeys, the hotel began accepting bookings in mid-May. It features 167 rooms, including suites across six floors, and is equipped with conference facilities for up to 150 attendees. A highlight of the new property is its sky bar on the rooftop terrace, positioned as a gathering spot for guests and locals alike.

WING CEO Noah Steinberg described the development as a strategic move to support Hungarian tourism and bolster the airport’s services. While the company has not disclosed the investment amount, the hotel represents a significant addition to WING’s hospitality portfolio. The building is also physically connected to the ibis Styles Budapest Airport Hotel, another WING project, creating a cohesive accommodation hub right at the airport.

Representing the TRIBE brand, Pauline Oster, Deputy Head for Europe and North Africa at Accor, said the hotel embraces a design-forward and character-rich approach to lodging. This location becomes the second TRIBE hotel in the Hungarian capital, following the TRIBE Budapest Stadium Hotel, which opened less than two years ago.

From the perspective of airport operations, Budapest Airport CEO Francois Berisot emphasized the growing demand for reliable, high-quality services close to the terminal, pointing to the importance of hotel options within walking distance. Hotel Director Csaba Palotai shared that beyond accommodation, TRIBE Budapest Airport aims to be a social space, open to both travelers and the local community.

Construction and design of the project involved multiple teams: architectural design by WING’s subsidiary Aspectus Architect, structural works by Swietelsky Hungary, finishing by Bernecker, and interior design by este’r partners.

Founded in Australia in 2017, TRIBE has expanded globally, with over 20 hotels operating in key cities and travel destinations. The TRIBE Budapest Airport Hotel is jointly operated by WING and Accor, a global leader in hospitality.
