The Weitz Company, a subsidiary of Orascom Construction PLC, has officially begun construction on the Four Seasons Resort and Residences Telluride, a landmark project set to redefine luxury hospitality in Colorado’s renowned San Juan Mountains. Acting as general contractor, Weitz leads development on what is the last remaining snow-front site in Mountain Village, marking a milestone for both the resort community and the company’s extensive mountain-building legacy.
Situated on a 4.5-acre (1.8-hectare) site, the Four Seasons Telluride will comprise 532,000 square feet (49,400 square metres) of premium accommodation and amenities. Once complete, it will feature 52 luxury hotel rooms, 43 hotel residences, and 26 private residences, making it the first new luxury hotel and residential development in Telluride in more than 15 years.
The resort will blend contemporary mountain architecture with top-tier amenities, including ski-in/ski-out access, an advanced fitness centre and spa, an indoor lap pool, an outdoor hot tub, a private residents’ club, and a signature five-star restaurant. The design also emphasises connectivity and community, with landscaped walking paths, plazas, and a pedestrian bridge linking the resort to the heart of Mountain Village.
“This project represents a once-in-a-generation opportunity to create a world-class destination in one of the most iconic ski towns in the country,” said Kevin McClain, CEO & President at The Weitz Company. “We are honoured to partner with developers Fort Partners and Merrimac Ventures to bring their vision to life.”
Backed by more than 75 years of construction experience in Colorado, The Weitz Company has an established record of delivering complex hospitality and resort projects across the Rocky Mountains. The company’s expertise will be pivotal in realising the Four Seasons Telluride, which aims to become one of the most sought-after luxury destinations in the region, blending the area’s natural landscape with world-class craftsmanship and design.
Beyond the United States, the project further strengthens Orascom Construction’s global portfolio in the luxury hospitality sector. The development complements Orascom’s portfolio of international landmark projects across the Mediterranean and the Middle East and Africa, reinforcing its position as a global leader in large-scale, high-end construction.
