Apaleo has become the first property management platform in the hospitality sector to launch a Model Context Protocol (MCP) Server, a move aimed at making agentic AI practical for day-to-day hotel operations.
The MCP Server provides a standardised interface for AI agents to read hotel data and carry out tasks across multiple systems without the need for bespoke integrations. The launch addresses a long-standing challenge in the industry: connecting AI to fragmented technology systems in a scalable way.
MCP is a new standard designed specifically for AI agents, functioning like a universal language. It enables them to interact with property management systems, CRMs, housekeeping tools, and payment gateways in a consistent manner. Apaleo said the server will help hoteliers speed up automation, lower technical costs and deploy AI-driven services more effectively.
Traditionally, linking AI agents to hotel systems required case-by-case development for each vendor, slowing implementation. For example, a simple booking change could involve multiple separate integrations across reservations, loyalty databases, housekeeping and payments. MCP consolidates this into a single connection.
Apaleo’s MCP Server extends the standard across its open platform and APIs, building on its Agent Hub marketplace, launched earlier this year, which allows hoteliers and developers to co-create AI agents tailored to operational needs.
Mike Rawson, CIO of citizenM, said: “The MCP is the great AI democratiser in hotel tech. It shifts us from coding to describing intent, enabling anyone, from GMs to front desk teams, to design adaptive and fluid guest journeys without waiting on developer backlogs. It marks a new era of frontline innovation that moves at the speed of imagination. For me, MCP doesn’t just improve hotel operations; it fundamentally redefines how – and how fast – hotels evolve. It’s exciting to see Apaleo leading the industry and helping hoteliers keep pace with the breakneck speed of agentic AI innovation.”
Stephan Wiesener, Co-Founder and CTO of Apaleo, added: “Apaleo has been leading the charge in making agentic AI practical for hospitality, and the launch of our MCP Server takes that a major step further. With Apaleo’s MCP Server, AI agents can carry out real tasks across hotel systems, from checking availability and modifying bookings, without the need for custom integrations. This moves agentic AI out of the lab and into live hotel environments, where it can drive real value every day.”
Apaleo said the MCP Server will support faster adoption of AI in hotels and encourage collaboration between operators and developers to create next-generation hospitality applications.
