W Hotels, part of Marriott Bonvoy’s extensive portfolio of over 30 brands, has announced the official reopening of W Hoboken following a complete transformation. The refreshed property represents the brand’s continued evolution as a leader in luxury lifestyle hospitality, combining bold design, cultural energy, and a renewed focus on creativity and connection.

Overlooking the Manhattan skyline from Hoboken’s lively waterfront, W Hoboken embodies the next chapter of W Hotels’ design philosophy. The redesign draws inspiration from the city’s industrial roots and waterfront heritage, blending sophisticated maritime elements with urban chic. The reopening follows the debut of W New York – Union Square, W Hotels’ new global flagship, reinforcing the brand’s strategy to redefine modern luxury through distinct, locally inspired experiences.

“W Hoboken embodies the modern evolution of W Hotels, where bold design, vibrant energy, and our iconic Whatever/Whenever service culture come together to create an unmistakably dynamic guest experience,” said George Fleck, Senior Vice President and Global Brand Leader, W Hotels. “Set at the footsteps of New York City, the brand’s birthplace, W Hoboken captures both the pulse of the city and the relaxed rhythm of the waterfront. With striking skyline views and a sophisticated maritime aesthetic, it stands as a true cultural catalyst in this vibrant destination. This transformation represents a bold step forward in our continued commitment to redefining luxury lifestyle hospitality.”

At the centre of the revamped hotel is The Living Room, W’s signature social hub. Designed to transition seamlessly from a relaxed daytime café to a lively evening lounge, the space features design cues that echo Hoboken’s character, including metal mesh installations inspired by train tracks and a red arched bar referencing the city’s architectural forms. A colourful carpet mimics the motion of the Hudson River, while a curated menu offers refined small plates such as mini lobster rolls, truffle arancini, and housemade blinis served with caviar. Guests can also enjoy an inventive cocktail programme featuring creations like Fizz de Provence and Kyoto Bridge.

“We envisioned W Hoboken as a cultural hub of connection – an oasis amidst the busy city for guests and locals alike to converse and feel inspired,” said Joanna Sanchez, General Manager, W Hoboken. “This transformation has redefined the property, infusing it with bold new design and a fresh perspective that reflects the spirit and heart of Hoboken today.”

Beyond the public spaces, W Hoboken’s 223 redesigned guest rooms carry forward the brand’s emphasis on connection and comfort. Each room incorporates subtle references to Hoboken’s maritime and industrial heritage, from amber-glass pendant lighting reminiscent of lighthouses to mirrors inspired by the Hudson Tunnel. The design palette of soft textures, polished metals, and warm lighting transforms the rooms into intimate, modern sanctuaries.

The hotel’s Superior Suites offer a distinct social atmosphere, with living rooms featuring balconies and dining areas accented by green glass pendant lights inspired by maritime lanterns. The Penthouse I and II Suites extend the concept further, offering spacious layouts ideal for entertaining, complete with kitchenettes, powder rooms, and panoramic skyline views.

Guests can maintain their wellness routines at FIT, the hotel’s state-of-the-art gym, or take advantage of flexible meeting and event spaces equipped with the latest technology, designed to host everything from private gatherings to weddings and corporate functions.

W Hoboken’s transformation reinforces W Hotels’ renewed global identity, one that connects contemporary luxury with creativity, local culture, and social energy.
