IHG Hotels & Resorts has confirmed the signing of a new franchise agreement with Sirayane Hospitality to bring the Kimpton brand to Morocco for the first time. The new 67-key luxury lifestyle hotel, named Kimpton Marrakech, is scheduled to open its doors in the final quarter of 2026. This move represents the third hotel signing for IHG in the country as the group looks to increase its luxury and lifestyle footprint across the region.

Sirayane Hospitality, a local investor with two decades of experience in the Marrakech market, will develop the property. The Kimpton brand has established a global reputation for boutique experiences since its inception in 1981. This debut in the “Red City” follows a period of significant growth in the Moroccan luxury tourism sector.

The hotel will be situated seven kilometres from Marrakesh–Menara Airport. It is located roughly a 20-minute drive south of the Medina and Hivernage districts. The chosen site offers guests views of the Atlas Mountains and is positioned near several international golf courses. This area is becoming a popular choice for wealthy travellers who prefer a quieter environment away from the busy city centre.

Once complete, the Kimpton Marrakech will offer a range of facilities including an all-day dining venue, a lobby lounge, and a rooftop restaurant. The property will also house a spa, a fitness centre, and swimming pools. The design aims to create a social hub that appeals to both international visitors and the local community.

“We are delighted to partner with Sirayane Hospitality to introduce the Kimpton brand to Marrakech, Morocco, a destination celebrated for its cultural richness, design heritage, and growing luxury tourism sector. Sirayane Hospitality’s strong local expertise makes them the perfect partner for this milestone opening,” said Haitham Mattar, Managing Director, IHG Hotels & Resorts – India, Middle East & Africa. He added: “Kimpton Marrakech will bring a bold, contemporary, and highly experiential luxury lifestyle offering to one of the world’s most inspiring cities. Kimpton Hotels worldwide are thoughtfully designed to inspire connection and creativity, and we’re excited to bring that same energy and spirit to Marrakech.”

Mehdi Bennani Smires, Owner and CEO of Sirayane Hospitality, stated: “We are proud to partner with IHG to bring the first Kimpton hotel to Morocco. Marrakech is a global destination for luxury travel, and we look forward to developing a hotel that represents the avant-garde of luxury lifestyle hospitality in the city.”
