The Dubai-based property developer MERED has signed a strategic Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with EMSTEEL to integrate high-strength reinforcement steel into its real estate projects. The agreement was formalised during Abu Dhabi Sustainability Week, a global platform dedicated to accelerating sustainable development. This partnership establishes a new framework for testing steel solutions that aim to improve structural efficiency while reducing the environmental footprint of modern buildings.

Through this collaboration, both parties will evaluate innovative materials and engineering methods that support responsible development. By using high-strength steel, MERED intends to lower the total volume of materials required for its projects, which can significantly cut down on carbon emissions associated with production and transport. This move aligns with the developer’s commitment to high-performance, long-term building quality.

The focus on green building practices was further highlighted by EMSTEEL’s recent achievement at the event. The company was awarded the Diamond Sustainability Label by the Abu Dhabi Chamber of Commerce and Industry. This is the highest level of recognition in the programme, granted to industrial leaders who demonstrate exceptional commitment to sustainable operations.

This partnership is a key component of MERED’s wider strategy to work with leading industrial firms to set new environmental benchmarks in the property sector. By adopting these advanced materials, the firm is positioning its future developments at the forefront of the UAE’s push for a more sustainable and efficient construction industry.
