A major new eco-resort development has officially entered its construction phase in the Sa Pa Ward of Lào Cai Province. The groundbreaking ceremony for the Ô Quy Hồ Tea hill – EcoSapa Eco-Resort Township took place on the afternoon of 29 April 2026. Dzung Do Nguyen, the CEO of enCity, joined local government officials and investment partners to mark the start of the project.

The development is a collaborative effort between Ecopark Hải Dương Investment JSC and Hồng Phong Investment and Development Co., Ltd. The planning and architectural design are being led by enCity. This project represents the fifth time that enCity has partnered with the investor group led by Chairman Nguyễn Công Hồng. Their professional relationship originally began with the Ecopark Township project in Hưng Yên.

The design of EcoSapa aims to merge the natural environment with modern hospitality. The project was created through a combination of the strategic vision of Dzung Do Nguyen and the artistic design approach of Marco Buinhas, the Design Director at enCity. The layout uses the existing tea hills, mountain passes and water features as the primary inspiration for the architecture.

In the master plan, walkways are designed to follow the natural contour lines of the land. The buildings feature layered rooflines that mimic the surrounding topography. The township will include a variety of specialised facilities such as a tea museum, a sky lounge and a hillside hotel. These spaces are organised to provide visitors with different views of the valley and direct access to the tea fields and local streams.

The developers intend for the site to be a four-season destination. The architectural strategy focuses on listening to the terrain rather than imposing structures upon it. This approach is intended to create a long-term value for the region by establishing a destination with a clear local identity. The ceremony signals the transition of EcoSapa from a conceptual design into a physical reality at the gateway of Sa Pa.
