CTP has reached a new agreement with retailer Leroy Merlin Romania to significantly increase its footprint at CTPark Bucharest West. The French-owned home improvement specialist will occupy a custom-built 48,500 sqm regional distribution centre. This expansion was celebrated during a recent groundbreaking ceremony at the site, which is currently the largest industrial park in Europe.
The new facility is already under construction as part of the project’s first phase. CTP expects to hand over the keys to the retailer by February 2027. This development marks a major step in the ongoing relationship between the two firms. It also cements CTPark Bucharest West’s status as a vital logistics gateway for both Romania and the wider Central and Eastern European markets.
CTP secured the contract following a competitive pitch process. The developer’s ability to manage complex, large-scale projects and offer flexible layouts was a deciding factor for the retailer. The site offers direct access to the A1 motorway and is situated near the capital’s most populated districts, providing a strong local workforce.
Beyond standard warehouse space, the building will include specialised technical features. These include custom loading chambers and a separate car park connected by an elevated walkway. This design keeps pedestrians away from heavy goods vehicles to improve safety. The park also provides staff amenities such as medical facilities, a canteen and the Clubhaus community centre.
Ronald Binkofski, MD for Romania at CTP, said: “This agreement reflects our ability to truly adapt to our clients’ needs and to deliver solutions that go beyond standard industrial space. We worked closely with LEROY MERLIN to shape a project that supports both their current operations and future growth, combining flexibility, efficiency and long-term scalability. CTPark Bucharest West continues to prove itself as a strategic location for companies looking to optimise their supply chains and expand in Romania.”
Ionuț Vasile, Head of Supply Chain LEROY MERLIN Romania, says: “Meeting our customers’ needs requires dependable, high-quality logistics infrastructure that supports efficient and flexible operations. This partnership will help us further optimise our logistics and fulfillment capabilities, providing the capacity and adaptability needed to maintain strong service standards and respond effectively to changing market demands.”
With a total planned area of nearly 1.5 million sqm, the park remains a central pillar of Romania’s industrial infrastructure.
