Developer Arada has awarded a AED397 million construction contract to Modern Building Contracting Company (MBCC) for the development of the Rove Aljada hotel and Rove Home Aljada residences, marking another milestone in the AED35 billion Aljada megaproject. The contract covers the construction of four buildings that will form the Rove Aljada cluster, strategically positioned adjacent to Arada CBD and Madar Mall.

Construction is set to begin immediately, with completion targeted for December 2027. The Rove Aljada hotel will feature 192 rooms, a rooftop swimming pool, co-working spaces, a 24-hour gym, and an all-day dining restaurant, offering both business and leisure travellers a modern, connected experience in the heart of Sharjah.

The adjoining Rove Home Aljada will comprise 306 branded residences and serviced apartments, available in one-, two-, and three-bedroom configurations. The development’s design features a colourful, contemporary aesthetic and amenities such as a private gym, swimming pool, café, restaurant, co-working and meeting areas, and ground-floor retail options.

Ahmed Alkhoshaibi, Group CEO of Arada, said: “We are absolutely committed to delivering world-class amenities to support the growth of this transformational new destination and this contract award is further evidence of that. With the introduction of Rove’s fresh and dynamic hospitality concept, we are responding to rising demand from both business and leisure travelers seeking smart, connected and design-led experiences in Sharjah.”

The Rove Aljada contract follows a series of major construction updates across the Aljada community. Work is currently advancing on Arada CBD, a 40-building commercial district, while in September 2025, a AED2.2 billion contract was awarded to UNEC for the construction of Madar Mall, designed by Zaha Hadid Architects. The new mall will serve as a leisure, shopping, and dining destination for the UAE and sits next to the Rove Aljada site.

When complete, Rove Aljada, owned by Arada and operated by Rove Hotels, will expand the hospitality options available within Aljada, which already includes the soon-to-open Nest Hotel, Arada’s homegrown brand, and the Vida Aljada complex, expected to open in Q1 2026. Another addition, The Address Aljada, will also be managed by Emaar Hospitality Group.

Currently home to 20,000 residents, the Aljada megaproject encompasses more than 25,000 homes, alongside extensive retail, education, wellness, and commercial facilities. With direct access to Sheikh Mohammed bin Zayed Road, Al Dhaid Road, Sharjah International Airport, and the upcoming Etihad Rail station, Aljada continues to redefine Sharjah’s urban landscape as one of the UAE’s most ambitious mixed-use developments.
