MIDAR for Investment and Urban Development has confirmed a landmark agreement to launch the first social sports club in the third phase of Mostakbal City. The project, which involves an investment of over EGP 3 billion, will be developed in partnership with Sporting for Investment and Sports Facilities (S.I.S.F), a subsidiary of the renowned Alexandria Sporting Club.

Spanning 42 feddans, the new facility is designed to become a central hub for residents of the growing smart city. The development will be rolled out in three distinct stages. Construction is moving at pace, with the first phase of the club expected to be operational by the first half of 2027. Early bird registration for memberships is slated to open towards the end of 2026, offering exclusive perks for those living within MIDAR’s urban developments.

Under the terms of the deal, S.I.S.F will handle the management, marketing and day-to-day operations of the site. The club will feature a wide array of amenities, including courts for handball, basketball, volleyball and tennis, alongside five-a-side football pitches and modern fitness gyms. Extensive green spaces, children’s play zones and a dedicated restaurant complex are also planned to support social and cultural activities.

Ayman ElKousey, CEO and Managing Director of MIDAR, described the project as a vital step for the city’s infrastructure. “This project represents a strategic step in developing the sports and social infrastructure in Mostakbal City. It reflects MIDAR’s commitment to providing an integrated experience for the city’s residents, combining sports, culture, and entertainment, emphasizing the project’s significance due to its substantial investment value and diverse sports and recreational activities,” he said.

Ahmed Hassan, Chairman of Sporting Club, shared his enthusiasm for bringing the legacy of the Alexandria-based institution to New Cairo. “He highlighted the successful track record of Sporting Club in Alexandria and its distinguished position among Egypt’s most prestigious sports clubs, along with his vision and plans to maximize this success within Mostakbal City, transforming it into the premier sports destination in New Cairo.”

The partnership follows a recent move by MIDAR to become the Master Sponsor of Alexandria Sporting Club, supporting all of its athletic and community events.
