Marriott Bonvoy has officially launched its apartment-style brand in Greater China with the opening of Artik Suzhou. This marks the first Asia appearance for the brand. The new property is located in the historic city of Suzhou, a destination frequently called the “Venice of the East” due to its canals and heritage. The development aims to serve a growing market of business and leisure travellers who want the comfort of a home alongside professional hospitality.

Betty Tian, Managing Vice President, Customer Group, Greater China at Marriott International, said: “As travel continues to evolve, a new generation of travelers is seeking not just to visit a destination, but to become part of it. The debut of Apartments by Marriott Bonvoy responds to this growing demand for space, belonging, and deeper immersion in local destinations.” She added: “This milestone expands Marriott Bonvoy’s portfolio in Greater China to encompass 26 brands and brings a fresh way to travel—blending locally-inspired design, comfortable residential spaces with the amenities of home, and the freedom to fully immerse themselves in each destination through elements exemplifying the city’s uniqueness.”

The property is situated within China Central Place, a mixed-use urban complex in the Gusu District. This location provides easy access to the Suzhou Museum and the Humble Administrator’s Garden. Transport links are also strong. The Shilu Metro Station is within walking distance and the main railway station is 4.5 kilometres away. Visitors can reach Shanghai in 30 minutes via high-speed train.

Artik Suzhou features one- and two-bedroom suites that range from 75 to 115 square metres. Each unit includes a fully equipped kitchen and a washer-dryer. The design incorporates local silk textures and floral patterns. Multi-Property General Manager Alfonso Orona said: “Artik Suzhou offers more than just a place to stay, it is an immersive expression of Suzhou life.” He continued: “We aim to meet the needs of family gatherings with spacious accommodations while also appealing to young travelers seeking fun. Through thoughtfully designed spaces and warm, attentive service, we hope to accompany leisure guests and business travelers alike as they experience and cherish Suzhou.”

Guests manage their stay through a digital guide that acts as a web-based concierge. The property also offers a fitness centre, pet-friendly rooms and curated activities such as cycling tours and artist workshops to help visitors connect with the local culture.
