Two major office buildings in Makati City have secured a major international green building standard. Ayala Land Offices announced that its One Ayala East and West Towers have both been awarded LEED Gold certification, a move expected to attract multinational corporate tenants with strict environmental mandates.
The newly certified spaces cover a combined gross floor area of 74,531 square meters of commercial office space. According to the developer, the rating reflects the properties’ performance across energy efficiency, indoor environmental quality, resource management and sustainable daily operations. The announcement follows news that the third building in the complex, the One Ayala South Tower, has also received LEED certification.
In a further environmental milestone, all three properties have secured EDGE Zero Carbon certification. To achieve this, the buildings demonstrated net-zero operational carbon emissions by utilising 100% renewable energy, introducing water conservation measures and using carbon in-setting practices. Corporate occupiers are increasingly prioritising these certified spaces to meet internal carbon reduction targets, statutory sustainability reporting and investor ESG demands.
Hamm Katipunan, Chief Executive Officer of Ayala Land Offices, said: “More companies today are looking beyond traditional office requirements and seeking workplaces that support their broader sustainability ambitions. By achieving both LEED and EDGE Zero Carbon certifications across all three towers, One Ayala provides organizations with an address that aligns with their environmental commitments while delivering the connectivity, accessibility, and workplace experience they need to thrive.”
The multi-tower office complex sits directly above a major transport intersection in Makati, connecting tenants directly to transit networks, retail units, restaurants and lifestyle amenities. Project leads state the location was planned to combine transport efficiency with employee well-being, allowing businesses to expand responsibly while securing long-term stakeholder value.
