Wold Architects & Engineers has announced its acquisition of Nashville-based firm JJCA. The full-service planning, architecture and engineering firm specialises in education, government, healthcare and senior living design. This move aims to build on the established presence of JJCA in Tennessee and across the United States.
The acquisition will allow JJCA to access expanded resources. These include in-house engineering, deeper technical expertise and operational support. This support is intended to help the firm grow its reach while keeping its existing leadership, teams and client relationships intact.
JJCA was founded in 1991 and is headquartered in Nashville, which is one of the leading healthcare markets in the US. Over the past three decades, the firm has completed more than 700 healthcare projects. It holds deep expertise in serving rural healthcare systems, behavioural health providers, higher education institutions, school districts and community-based organisations.
The partnership is expected to create new opportunities to strengthen this work, expand visibility and support clients with additional capabilities as their needs evolve. Both firms share a focus on relationship-driven and community-centred design, specialising in environments that enhance the human experience.
“JJCA has built a firm defined by strong relationships, trusted expertise and a deep commitment to the communities they serve,” said CEO Vaughn Dierks, AIA, LEED AP. “This partnership allows us to build on that foundation, bringing together our strengths to support continued growth while preserving the people and approach that make JJCA successful.”
Leadership teams from both organisations will remain actively involved during the transition. Operations and branding will be integrated over time to ensure continuity across services for clients, employees and partners.
“This partnership allows us to take the next step in our growth while staying true to what has made JJCA successful,” said David Johnson, AIA, NCARB, EDAC, founding principal at JJCA. “With greater resources and expanded capabilities, we’re able to grow our impact while continuing to serve our clients with the same consistency and trust they expect.”
This announcement follows the recent acquisition of VPS Architecture by Wold. The move represents continued momentum in the firm’s long-term growth strategy to build a national platform of firms with strong local relationships and a shared commitment to serving communities through design.
