Construction giant Skanska has finalised a contract valued at EUR 78 million (approximately SEK 850M) to build a new hospital development in Pori, Finland.
The agreement was signed with client Satakunnan hyvinvointialue. Skanska will include the financial value of the contract in its Nordic region order bookings for the fourth quarter of 2026.
The upcoming development will cover a total floor space of around 27,100 square metres. Once finished, the new building will accommodate a 24-hour joint emergency department, intensive care and monitoring units, cardiology facilities, an operating unit, recovery rooms, sterile supply services and medical imaging space. Essential technical infrastructure and general support facilities are also integrated into the layout.
Works on the site are scheduled to commence in the final quarter of 2026. The construction programme is expected to run through to completion in the third quarter of 2029.
