The Integrated Transport Centre, operating as Abu Dhabi Mobility, has announced a public transport modernisation project valued at more than AED 300 million.

The contract was formally awarded to Conduent Business Solutions (France) S.A.S., part of the global Conduent Group, during the Livability and Investment Exhibition (LIVEX 2026). The French firm brings five decades of industry experience, operating across more than 400 transit networks worldwide.

Under the strategic deal, the French firm will implement an Automated Vehicle Management (AVM) system to deliver live monitoring for the bus network. The tool aims to improve route punctuality, enhance fleet oversight, boost reliability and assist operational planning through live tracking data.

Alongside fleet tracking, the agreement covers the rollout of an Automated Fare Collection (AFC) system. The platform will offer expanded payment choices, allowing passengers to pay using bank cards, digital payment platforms and QR codes. The digital fare system will also gather operational metrics to guide future transit adjustments.

The authority stated the project forms part of wider efforts to accelerate digital transformation, adopt artificial intelligence and prepare local infrastructure for future population and economic growth.

His Excellency Dr Abdulla Hamad AlGhfeli, Director General of the Integrated Transport Centre, said: “This project represents a strategic investment in developing the digital infrastructure of Abu Dhabi’s public transport system and reflects the centre’s commitment to leveraging data and advanced technologies to build a smarter, more efficient and sustainable mobility ecosystem. Through the development of transport management systems and smart fare collection solutions, we are strengthening our data-driven decision-making capabilities, enhancing service efficiency and customer experience, supporting quality of life, and reinforcing Abu Dhabi’s position as a leading destination for living, investment and the development of future mobility solutions.”
