Work has officially started on a major AI-ready data centre at Oxagon in NEOM. HUMAIN and DataVolt have partnered to build an initial 100MW phase of a larger 360MW facility on Saudi Arabia's Red Sea coast. Expected to open in 2028, the site combines renewable power, advanced cooling and high-density computing clusters. The project marks the first step in DataVolt's wider plan for a 1.5GW campus.
Marriott International and LG Electronics have teamed up to create a cloud-based in-room entertainment and technology platform. The new system merges LG's hardware capabilities with Marriott's enterprise tech infrastructure. Foster + Partners has joined a UK-EU consortium that secured a £4 million research grant from the European Innovation Council Pathfinder funding programme. The three-year SWIFT-BUILD project focuses on autonomous robotic assembly for modular timber structures using top-down construction techniques. The initiative combines artificial intelligence, automated machinery and aerial drones to create flexible buildings designed for adaptation and eventual disassembly.
ESR has named Dalmar Sheikh as Chief Executive Officer of ESR Data Centres, starting 1 September 2026. Keppel has secured 50 MW of new data centre capacity in Singapore to build an AI-ready facility on Jurong Island. The project, named Keppel DC SGP 11, will involve an investment exceeding S$1 billion. It was granted under the second Data Centre Call for Application, a competitive process jointly managed by the Economic Development Board and the Infocomm Media Development Authority that drew over 20 proposals.
