Moxies, the premium-casual dining brand known for its handcrafted dishes and signature cocktails, will officially open its doors at 1111 20th St. NW, just south of Dupont Circle. The opening of this flagship location represents the Canadian concept’s first venture into the Washington D.C. market.
The restaurant is welcoming the public to celebrate the launch of its newest US location on December 9. Guests will have the opportunity to experience the brand’s vibrant atmosphere while enjoying its unique signature menu. The globally inspired menu includes popular dishes such as Chipotle Mango Chicken, Blackened Mahi Mahi, and the Salmon & Avocado Cobb Salad. Shareable plates like Steak Bites and Cashew Chicken Lettuce Wraps are also featured, alongside pasta options, grilled steaks, and an upscale bar menu. The bar programme offers handcrafted cocktails, a curated wine list, and a rotating selection of local beers.
The new franchise is led by Brandon Thordarson, Moxies’ former Executive Chef. Mr Thordarson is now a franchisee and the location reflects his personal commitment to the brand.

The new venue spans more than 8,000 square feet and is strategically placed near both George Washington University and Howard University. The restaurant is anticipated to become a social hub for the area’s students, professionals, and residents. The space features a bold statement bar, a stylish dining room, and versatile areas, blending contemporary design with hospitality.

The D.C. location will operate seven days a week. Hours are 11 a.m. to midnight from Sunday to Wednesday, and 11 a.m. to 1 a.m. from Thursday to Saturday. The popular Happy Hour will be available daily from 3 to 6 p.m., which includes half-priced bottles of wine every Wednesday.
