NBCC (India) Limited has made its first move into the overseas property market by launching real estate operations in Dubai. The firm is acting through its wholly owned subsidiary, NBCC Overseas Real Estate LLC. This development makes it the first Central Public Sector Undertaking from India to establish itself as a developer in the city.
The company has secured a prime plot in Dubai Mainland for a total cost of AED 16 million. This figure includes AED 1 million covering Dubai Land Department fees, broker commissions and other associated costs. The planned project is a mixed-use development with a gross floor area of 51,718 sq ft. It will feature a ground floor, two parking levels and eight storeys of accommodation. Management expects the project to generate between AED 58 million and AED 60 million in revenue.
This expansion follows the successful completion of the India Pavilion at Dubai South for World Expo 2020. That project was valued at roughly AED 172 million and served as a showcase for Indian engineering on the global stage. The company believes the new Dubai venture will strengthen its international presence and provide fresh avenues for growth.
In domestic news, the firm recently celebrated the inauguration of the redeveloped WHO–SEARO headquarters. High profile figures attended the event, including Dr. Tedros Adhanom Ghebreyesus, DG, WHO, and Shri J. P. Nadda, Hon’ble Minister for Health & Family Welfare. Shri Prataprao Jadhav, Hon’ble Minister of State for Ayush, and various foreign delegates also toured the site.
NBCC has also reached significant milestones within India by managing stalled Amrapali projects under Supreme Court direction. The firm has finished nearly 30,000 units out of a 38,000 unit mandate, providing homes to thousands of buyers. It is now moving forward with an additional 8,200 units by utilising unused floor area ratio from these sites. The move into Dubai is seen as a proactive step to build on this momentum and leverage its brand outside of its home market.
