Corinthia Hotels has confirmed a new partnership with RoundShield and Kervis SGR to develop a luxury resort on the shores of Lake Como. The 58-key property, named Corinthia Lake Como, is scheduled to open in 2028. It will be located in the alpine village of Menaggio, situated next to Italy’s second-oldest golf course.

The development is set to transform a historic site in the foothills of the Pre-Alps. It will include a private beach club on the western shore of the lake, providing direct water access at its widest point. This project marks the second Italian property for the Corinthia brand. The design will focus on restoring heritage architecture while incorporating modern outdoor living spaces.

Simon Casson, CEO Corinthia Hotels, said: “We are honoured to be expanding our portfolio in Italy and to partner with RoundShield and Kervis on this landmark project. Lake Como is one of the world’s most admired destinations, and this development represents a shared commitment to excellence and authenticity. Together, we will deliver a hotel that celebrates the region’s splendour and heritage while exemplifying Corinthia’s standards of timeless, thoughtful luxury.”

The resort will consist of guestrooms and suites built into the natural landscape, alongside three branded residences. Public areas will be housed in three separate villas, containing the lobby, a lounge and the golf club. The site is owned by the Putter Fund and managed by Kervis SGR, an Italian firm with over €1.5 billion in assets under management.

Philipp Henle, Managing Director at RoundShield, said: “We are proud to bring this extraordinary site to life with Corinthia and Kervis, blending Lake Como’s heritage with an elevated luxury offering. This project reflects RoundShield’s growing focus on luxury hospitality-led real estate in prime European destinations, with additional projects forming part of a carefully curated growth pipeline.”

Federico Romito, Partner and Head of Acquisitions at Kervis SGR, added: “We are delighted to partner with Corinthia and RoundShield on this unique opportunity to bring back to life one of Lake Como’s most iconic destinations. The project perfectly embodies Kervis’ vision of combining heritage, sustainability, and excellence in hospitality to create long-term value for both our investors and the local community. This investment also reflects Kervis’ broader strategy of partnering with leading global operators and institutional capital to reposition landmark Italian destinations.”
