REMAX has confirmed the further growth of its international network through the sale of master franchise rights in Libya and the launch of a new office in Baku, Azerbaijan. These developments bring the brand’s reach to more than 120 countries and territories. The company currently operates with more than 145,000 agents across over 8,500 offices worldwide.

The new regional headquarters for REMAX Libya is located in Tripoli. It is headed by Region Owners Zyead Ghattour and Alhareth Ghattour. Regional Director Ali Milad is responsible for the daily management of the business. The owners possess over a decade of experience in the Libyan property sector and have previously managed international franchise brands.

Alhareth Ghattour said: “Throughout our travels, we saw REMAX thriving in markets around the world. We believe Libya is ready for a more modern, structured approach to real estate. REMAX represents a chance to introduce global professionalism to a market that’s evolving and full of long‑term potential.”

The Libyan team intends to open the first independently owned offices in Tripoli in the coming months. They plan to use AI-driven technology and global referral systems to improve transparency in the local industry.

Alhareth Ghattour added: “Our philosophy has always been ‘now, not tomorrow,’ and we believe the timing is exactly right for the REMAX brand to enter the Libyan market. While the industry is still developing, it grows stronger each year. This is the moment to establish a solid foundation, introduce true global standards and grow alongside the market as it matures.”

In Azerbaijan, the brand has launched REMAX 1st Realty in Baku. The 2,000 square foot office is led by İdris Cengiz. He brings 16 years of construction experience and six years in real estate consultancy to the role.

Cengiz said: “The Azerbaijani real estate market is undergoing rapid growth with increasing urban development, foreign investment and a young, dynamic workforce. There’s a clear need for international standards, reliable education and structured systems. REMAX offers exactly the type of model that can elevate the expectations of agents and consumers alike.”

Shawna Gilbert, Senior Vice President of REMAX Global and Commercial, said: “Expanding into Libya and opening an office in Azerbaijan reinforces our goal of delivering world‑class real estate professionalism everywhere people buy and sell homes or properties. We’re thrilled to welcome such strong local leaders to the REMAX network.”
