Marriott Bonvoy and Bank Mandiri have introduced a new co-branded credit card in Jakarta, aimed at turning everyday consumer spending into international travel rewards. The launch is a first for Marriott Bonvoy in Southeast Asia and represents the first time Bank Mandiri has partnered with a global hotel group. The card connects Indonesian users to Marriott’s 30 hotel brands and more than 10,000 destinations worldwide.
The agreement comes as Marriott International looks to increase its footprint in the Indonesian market. The company currently has 86 properties in the country and intends to add 30 more by 2030. John Toomey, Chief Commercial Officer for Marriott International APEC, said: “With more than 86 properties across the archipelago and projections to add another 30 more by 2030, Indonesia is one of our fastest-growing markets in Asia Pacific. The launch of the Marriott Bonvoy® Mandiri Credit Card marks a significant milestone in enriching our engagement with Indonesian travelers, giving them easy access to our properties in Indonesia and beyond through everyday spend. I’m excited for cardholders to unlock the power of Marriott Bonvoy with the co-branded card.”
Bank Mandiri views the partnership as a way to integrate financial services with the lifestyle choices of its customers. Vice President Director Henry Panjaitan said: “We welcome this co-branded credit card issuance through a synergistic partnership with Marriott Bonvoy, a global leader in the hospitality industry. This initiative reinforces the integration of Bank Mandiri’s ecosystem and accelerates the delivery of value-added financial solutions that enable customers to maximize their everyday transactions into a wide range of rewards, while supporting more efficient and measured expense management.”
He further commented: “We’re always looking for meaningful ways to help our members travel better and experience more. Bank Mandiri’s scale and strong reputation makes it the perfect partner to connect us to more deeply with guests in Indonesia, delivering greater value and premium lifestyle solutions to customers.”
The card features various incentives for new users, including 5,000 welcome bonus points and automatic Silver Elite status. Cardholders can earn 5x points on eligible transactions and access a Free Night Award worth 20,000 points after reaching certain spending levels. Additional perks include airport lounge access and the removal of annual fees for the first year. The card is fully integrated with the Livin’ by Mandiri app, allowing for virtual card use and QRIS payments.
