Sun Group has signed a US$2.3 billion Memorandum of Understanding with Gold Mantis to transform interior architecture standards in Vietnam. The agreement was finalised during a high-level Vietnamese diplomatic visit to China. The partnership involves Sun Group Chairman Dang Minh Truong and Standing Vice Chairman Tran Minh Son working alongside Gold Mantis Chairman Chau Minh and CEO Vuong Han Lam.
The five-year collaboration will run from 2026 to 2031. It focuses on the use of Building Information Modelling (BIM) and advanced interior fit-out solutions for several of Vietnam’s key national developments. A major priority is the APEC 2027 project cluster in Phu Quoc. Gold Mantis will provide strategic interior services for a landmark complex that includes an airport and various critical facilities. This project is currently being fast-tracked by Sun Group.
Gold Mantis brings a wealth of experience to the deal. The firm has spent 23 years at the top of the Chinese market and holds 151 Lu Ban Awards. Its past work includes Beijing Daxing International Airport and the China National Opera House. The company also owns HBA, a global leader in luxury hotel design for brands like Ritz-Carlton and Four Seasons. For the Vietnam projects, Gold Mantis has committed to green design practices that focus on public health and environmental responsibility.
Mr. Dang Minh Truong, Chairman of Sun Group, affirmed: “We share a vision of developing sustainable buildings and projects that leave lasting, valuable architectural legacies for our country. Collaborating with a global partner like Gold Mantis gives our team the opportunity to absorb modern construction technology, master the process, and elevate Vietnamese construction firms within the global value chain.”
The partnership follows Sun Group’s recent history of working with international leaders. These include Changi Airports for operations and Dragone for entertainment shows. This latest deal aims to integrate Vietnamese firms more deeply into the global construction value chain while delivering world-class convention centres and luxury hotels. The project serves as a significant milestone in economic cooperation between Vietnam and China.
