US property tech giant CoStar Group has acquired an approximate 30 per cent stake in Wikicasa, an agent-backed real estate marketplace operating in Italy. Announced in Milan on 1 July 2026, the transaction aims to drive digital innovation across the Italian property market by combining Wikicasa’s domestic network with CoStar’s international platform.
Wikicasa’s shareholder base includes several of Italy’s most prominent real estate agencies, such as Tempocasa, Gabetti Group, RE/MAX Italy and Tecnocasa Group. Its platform, Wikicasa.it, aggregates professional listings to provide a database of over 600,000 properties, which includes more than 100,000 commercial listings. The portal connects consumers with property professionals while supplying agents with market intelligence tools.
The investment is designed to expand the global reach of Italian property listings. CoStar Group intends to integrate Wikicasa’s commercial inventory with LoopNet, its global commercial real estate marketplace. This move will expose Italian properties to an international audience while giving Italian businesses broader search capabilities. The partnership also aims to increase the local adoption of Matterport technology, utilising immersive 3D digital twins and artificial intelligence in both residential and commercial sectors.
CoStar Group, which is listed on the NASDAQ as CSGP, operates several major property portals worldwide. Its portfolio includes Homes.com and Apartments.com in the United States, Domain in Australia and OnTheMarket in the United Kingdom.
“We are delighted to have reached an agreement to invest alongside Italy’s leading agents in Wikicasa. We’ve been impressed with what the shareholders and management team have achieved to date and believe there is a significant opportunity to create value by bringing our technology, global scale, and continued focus on innovation to the Italian property market”, said Andy Florance, Founder and Chief Executive Officer of CoStar Group.
Florance added that LoopNet attracts over 13 million monthly unique visitors, making it a logical starting point for international cross-border transactions.
Pietro Pellizzari, CEO of Wikicasa, commented on the deal, stating: “CoStar Group’s investment in Wikicasa is a significant milestone in our growth journey. We are excited to combine our local expertise and agent network with CoStar Group’s technology, scale, and global reach, creating new opportunities for the Italian real estate market”.
The transaction represents CoStar Group’s ongoing strategy to grow its global footprint through partnerships with established local operators.
