Hilton has announced the opening of three distinct hotels at the Barr Al Jissah waterfront destination. The new additions include Al Husn Hotel Muscat, Hilton Muscat Al Bandar and DoubleTree by Hilton Muscat Al Waha. This project marks a significant expansion for the Hilton brand in Oman and is situated in a prime location between local cliffs and the Gulf of Oman.
The Zubair Corporation owns the properties which are located a short drive from Muscat International Airport. Guy Hutchinson, president, Middle East & Africa, Hilton, said, “As Oman’s travel and tourism sector continues to thrive, we are proud to open these three hotels at Barr Al Jissah – the country’s iconic seaside destination. We look forward to contributing to its success through our portfolio of world-class brands and our global network. Together with The Zubair Corporation, we aim to strengthen Oman’s position as a leading tourism destination, supporting the nation’s Vision 2040 goal of attracting 11 million visitors annually and driving sustainable growth in the sector.”
The Al Husn Hotel Muscat is designed with 180 guest rooms and mimics the style of an Omani fort. It caters primarily to those seeking privacy and refined luxury. Following a renovation period in 2027, this property will join the Waldorf Astoria portfolio. Nearby, the Hilton Muscat Al Bandar operates as a lifestyle and corporate centre. It features 198 rooms and a large ballroom that can host up to 850 people.
For families, the DoubleTree by Hilton Muscat Al Waha provides 302 rooms and a design based on a traditional village. This resort includes multiple pools and a waterslide. Niels Bormans, group chief executive officer, The Zubair Corporation, said, “Today marks a milestone moment for Barr Al Jissah and for Oman’s hospitality sector as a whole. We are pleased to officially welcome Hilton as the new operator of Barr Al Jissah Resorts, confident that their global experience, operational excellence, and shared commitment to quality will further elevate the three hotels. This partnership reflects our belief in long-term value creation through world-class collaborations that support tourism growth and talent development, in line with the goals of Oman Vision 2040.”
Shared facilities across the complex include tennis courts, a lazy river and a private beach stretching over 500 metres. A PADI-certified dive centre and multiple spas are also available for guest use.
