A major new educational partnership has been unveiled in Riyadh as ROSHN Group, the national real estate developer owned by the Public Investment Fund, teams up with Cognita Middle East. The two organisations are set to launch an all-through King’s College Riyadh campus located in the SEDRA community. This move marks the largest private education project for ROSHN Group as it continues to expand its development portfolio across the Kingdom.

Under the terms of the agreement, ROSHN Group will handle the design and construction of the 36,300 m² facility. Once the campus is finished, Cognita Middle East will take over the day-to-day running of the school. The project is a key part of the developer’s strategy to provide fully integrated neighbourhoods. King’s College Riyadh has operated in Saudi Arabia for six years, and this new site in north Riyadh represents a significant growth of its local footprint.

The school will initially open for pupils from pre-school to Year 9, with plans to add further year groups annually. The curriculum will follow the National Curriculum for England, allowing students to work toward IGCSEs, A-Levels, and BTECs. However, the school will also maintain a strong focus on local identity by including Arabic language and Saudi national subjects as core requirements.

Facilities at the new site are expected to be world-class. Plans include a six-lane 25m swimming pool, an eight-court sports hall, football pitches, and basketball courts. For those interested in the arts and sciences, the campus will house a performing arts centre, music studios, and high-tech laboratory spaces. The school is designed to serve the 3,000 families already living in SEDRA, as well as the wider community in the north of the city.

Mr. Oussama Kabbani, Group Chief Development Officer of ROSHN Group, said: “The addition of King’s College Riyadh to SEDRA reflects our commitment to continually enhancing our offering for SEDRA residents and buyers. By integrating world-class private education into an active and growing community, we are expanding the options available to families and ensuring that SEDRA remains a vibrant, unparalleled destination. This partnership with Cognita Middle East reinforces ROSHN Group’s commitment to building human-centric environments that support the growth and well-being of future generations in line with Vision 2030.”

Representing the education group, Mr. Darren Gale, Managing Director, GCC for Cognita Middle East, said: “We are delighted to expand King’s College Riyadh with the launch of the SEDRA campus. This new all-through school represents a significant step in our long-term vision to deliver exceptional British education in the Kingdom. King’s College Riyadh SEDRA will offer students a dynamic and supportive environment where they can grow, achieve and pursue their ambitions.”

This latest development is seen as a major step forward for the Quality of Life Program under Saudi Vision 2030. By combining a 145-year British educational heritage with modern Saudi culture, the school aims to become a leading institution in the capital.
