Swire Properties and Lujiazui Group have jointly announced the launch of Qiantan Place, a new landmark development in Shanghai’s Pudong district. The project features two premium Grade-A office towers, One Qiantan Place and Two Qiantan Place. These structures form the commercial component of the expanded, mixed-use Taikoo Li Qiantan development. Pre-leasing for the new workspaces is now officially underway ahead of the scheduled completion in late 2026.

The naming of Qiantan Place takes inspiration from Swire Properties’ flagship developments, Pacific Place and Taikoo Place in Hong Kong. This reflects the company’s continuing confidence in the Shanghai market. The project is situated in the Qiantan area, which has matured into an integrated business hub attracting numerous Chinese and multinational corporations. Swire Properties will be responsible for all leasing and property management services.

“We see tremendous potential in Pudong as a leading commercial hub, particularly given its status as part of the China (Shanghai) Pilot Free Trade Zone,” said Don Taylor, Director, Office at Swire Properties. “The Qiantan area offers a fully integrated, mixed-use environment that continues to attract global investors, major Chinese and multinational corporations, as well as top-tier talents.”

The overall expansion transforms the 63,800 sqm site into a 381,000 sqm (Gross Floor Area) mixed-use destination. The retail component alone will double its existing footprint to 267,000 sqm through an additional 147,000 sqm of luxury and lifestyle offerings. This gives Qiantan Place tenants access to over 500 retail, dining, and lifestyle choices within a five-minute walk. The development’s residential component is already largely pre-sold, with approximately 97% of the saleable area sold as of 30 September 2025.

The office development spans a Gross Floor Area of approximately 125,600 sqm. One Qiantan Place features 30 storeys of office space, while Two Qiantan Place provides 24 storeys.

“Building on the success of Taikoo Li Qiantan, these two premium Grade A office towers reinforce our commitment to creating future-ready workplaces that integrate innovation, sustainability, and provide that sense of community. We are excited to collaborate once again with the Lujiazui Group, and together, we are confident that Qiantan Place will deliver high quality workspaces that prioritise employee wellbeing and productivity, capitalising on Shanghai’s growing ‘flight-to-quality’ trend.”

Designed by the world-renowned architectural firm Kohn Pederson Fox Associates (KPF), the towers prioritise occupant wellbeing. This includes expansive outdoor terraces, Huangpu River views, and a 750 sqm public green space atop One Qiantan Place.

The development achieves high standards for sustainability, having secured LEED Platinum and WELL Platinum pre-certification for both towers. Advanced technologies feature a dedicated on-site energy centre for carbon-efficient temperature control and state-of-the-art Indoor Air Quality systems.

Qiantan Place offers exceptional transport links. It provides direct access to three Shanghai metro lines (Lines 6, 8 and 11) via the Oriental Sports Plaza station. The opening of Metro Line 19 in 2028 will make it one of Shanghai’s few four-line stations. This guarantees convenient connections to both Shanghai Pudong International Airport and Shanghai Hongqiao Airport.
