Vietnamese conglomerate Sun Group has secured strategic agreements with US firms Visa, Marriott International and Boeing during an official state visit to New York. The partnerships span digital payment integration, hotel expansion and aerospace development. The moves follow Vietnam’s Politburo Resolution No. 26-NQ/TW, which aims to position tourism as a primary economic driver and grow the sector to contribute 12 to 14 per cent of national GDP.
Vietnam and the US are looking to increase cooperation in infrastructure and logistics following a high level meeting in Hanoi. Deputy Minister of Construction Nguyen Tuong Van met with a 52 company delegation from the US-ASEAN Business Council to discuss transport and urban projects. The talks focused on aviation, seaports and smart city development as Vietnam seeks to solidify its position in the global supply chain.
