Abu Dhabi developer Aldar has unveiled The Orchids, a new gated community within its established Yas Acres development on Yas Island. The project introduces 217 family homes, including townhouses and villas, designed around central parks and sports facilities. Residents will gain access to the wider masterplan, which features premium leisure options and sits close to local international schools and major entertainment hubs.
Design Hotels has announced its largest portfolio expansion to date by adding 16 properties operated by US hospitality group Palisociety. The deal integrates over 1,000 keys across nine American destinations into its global network. The properties will gain access to Marriott International distribution channels and the Marriott Bonvoy travel loyalty platform.
Hilton has launched Undergraduate by Hilton, a new upper-midscale hotel brand targeting university and college towns. Designed to complement the Graduate by Hilton chain, the brand features a flexible development model for new builds and conversions. Hilton aims to open the first property in 2027, with a long-term expansion target of 400 to 500 hotels globally.
Hilton has announced plans to introduce its premium economy brand, Spark by Hilton, to Italy following an agreement with ELE Spa. The 118-room Spark by Hilton Milan Linate Airport is scheduled to open later this year, situated near the terminal. This property will be the eleventh Hilton brand to establish a presence or enter the development pipeline across Italy.
US real estate firm GID has launched its national development platform, GID Residential Partners, into the Boston housing market. The expansion into the supply-constrained region will be led by industry veteran Chris Spendley, who joins the firm as Managing Director. Spendley brings over two decades of multifamily experience to the role, having previously overseen billions in transactions and thousands of residential units.
The world’s largest real estate franchise by agent count is expanding its footprint in Europe. Keller Williams has officially awarded a new master franchise in Croatia. This move brings the total number of European regions for the brand to 21. Led by Boris Batelic, the firm plans to launch its first market center in the second quarter of 2026 to drive structural change in the local market.
