Foster + Partners has joined a UK-EU consortium that secured a £4 million research grant from the European Innovation Council Pathfinder funding programme. The three-year SWIFT-BUILD project focuses on autonomous robotic assembly for modular timber structures using top-down construction techniques. The initiative combines artificial intelligence, automated machinery and aerial drones to create flexible buildings designed for adaptation and eventual disassembly.
