Arup and Obermeyer GmbH & Co. Kg have secured a masterplanning contract from Autobahn GmbH to redesign the A3/A1 motorway junction in Leverkusen. As one of Germany's oldest and busiest interchanges, the site will undergo extensive modernisation to ease congestion. The joint venture project features key civil engineering works, including a new one-kilometre bridge near the BayArena, while maintaining continuous traffic flow during construction.
The global investment firm H.I.G. Capital has launched Highground Living, a €1 billion German residential property platform based in Berlin. The business consolidates the firm's current regional assets alongside a new €450 million acquisition in Leipzig and Dresden. The platform targets long term sector growth driven by widespread structural housing shortages and resilient tenant demand.
Frasers Logistics & Commercial Trust has agreed to acquire interests in four freehold logistics properties in Germany and the Netherlands for approximately €294.9 million. The portfolio is fully occupied with a 5.7-year weighted average lease expiry. Funded via external debt, the transaction is expected to increase the trust's distribution per unit and expand its total portfolio to 118 properties.
Global investment group La Caisse and Prologis, Inc. have formed a new joint venture, Prologis Logistics Investment Venture Europe (PLIVE). The partnership begins with a EUR 1 billion portfolio of logistics assets across five European nations. La Caisse will hold a 70 per cent stake in the venture, while Prologis acts as the operating partner. The deal focuses on long-term growth through the acquisition and development of high-quality industrial properties.
Hines and Burstone Group have launched a pan-European light industrial joint venture, seeded with a R760 million investment. The partnership has acquired six assets across Germany and the Netherlands, totalling 49,000 square metres. Burstone will manage the portfolio, taking a 20% equity stake alongside the Hines European Real Estate Partners III fund. The strategy targets value-add opportunities driven by nearshoring and supply chain growth.
Greykite has expanded its European presence by launching Baunest, a dedicated German residential investment platform. In partnership with Arax Properties, the firm acquired a seed portfolio of 1,600 units for its inaugural real estate fund. The assets are located in major cities including Frankfurt and Dortmund, where housing demand remains high. Baunest plans to invest €500 million over the coming year and a half, focusing on modernising older buildings to improve energy efficiency.
