Property developer MERED has announced the launch of Riviera Residences Phase 2, adding 404 luxury homes to its waterfront development on Al Reem Island.

Located within the Abu Dhabi Global Market (ADGM) financial district, the new phase comprises 389 apartments, eight Bay Villas, six Sky Villas and a single exclusive penthouse.

Swiss architecture practice Herzog & de Meuron designed the project, drawing conceptual inspiration from the region’s historic pearl-diving legacy. The structure incorporates mother-of-pearl-inspired façade details alongside a bespoke 30-metre-long 3D-printed art installation.

Landscape features for the scheme take inspiration from the Mediterranean and Italian Riviera, covering over 7,000 square metres of green spaces. The grounds will host around 300 trees and palms alongside more than 60 plant species, arranged across three themed areas: the Sea Pearl Garden, Energy Garden and Bloom Orchard.

Residents will have access to more than 65,000 square feet of resort-style amenities. Facilities include swimming pools, fitness and wellness spaces, outdoor lounges, a padel court and children’s play areas. The development also incorporates a public waterfront promenade lined with retail units, cafés and restaurants.

The release of Phase 2 follows the completion of enabling works for Riviera Residences Phase 1, with main construction progressing towards a planned completion date in the third quarter of 2029.
