The Energy & Environment Alliance has launched a global consultation to develop the first sector-wide sustainability accounting standards for hotels and lodging. Backed by members representing over 50,000 hotels and £360bn in capital, the initiative aims to produce audit-grade disclosure rules aligned with IFRS S1 and S2, shaping how hospitality assets are financed, insured and valued.
Aleph Hospitality has expanded its footprint in Saudi Arabia with new hotel management agreements and projects, bringing its national portfolio to 11 properties totalling 2,354 keys. Announced at the Future Hospitality Summit in Dubai, the growth spans major cities including Riyadh, Jeddah, Makkah, the Eastern Province and Abha, with the group targeting 20 hotels in the Kingdom by 2030.

IHG Hotels & Resorts has announced the launch of Crowne Plaza Parramatta, a 217-room hotel set within a landmark mixed-use development opposite Parramatta Train Station. Opening in 2029, the hotel will include a rooftop infinity pool, flexible event spaces, and direct links to the city’s retail and transport hubs, marking a major milestone in Parramatta’s transformation into Sydney’s second CBD.
Hilton has announced plans to double its presence in Oman with the signing of three new hotels at Muscat’s Barr Al Jissah, including the Sultanate’s first Waldorf Astoria. Opening in January 2026, the Waldorf Astoria Muscat Al Husn, Hilton Muscat Al Bandar, and DoubleTree by Hilton Muscat Al Waha will introduce 680 new rooms, 15 dining venues, and extensive leisure facilities to Oman’s tourism landscape.
