Manchester United has announced the location for its proposed 100,000-seater stadium, situated 350 metres from Old Trafford. The venue forms the centrepiece of the Trafford Wharfside masterplan, a 150-hectare regeneration project backed by Trafford Council and regional authorities. The project aims to create 48,000 jobs and 15,000 homes, delivering a projected £7.3 billion annual boost to the UK economy.
The Snøhetta-designed Shanghai Grand Opera House will officially open on October 17, 2026. Currently entering its final development phase, the venue has scheduled 82 performances across 47 productions for its inaugural season, which runs until February 20, 2027. The project features three specialist auditoriums and an accessible public roofscape.
Ayala Land has increased its capital investment in the 320-hectare Lio Estate in El Nido, Palawan, to cater to growing demand for long-stay tourism and second homes. The Greenville Arena District has selected Turner to manage the $182 million Bon Secours Wellness Arena Master Plan. The project will modernise the downtown arena, build a 6,500-seat amphitheatre and extend the entertainment district. Funded by existing venue revenues and hospitality taxes rather than tax increases, the project will focus heavily on creating employment opportunities for local small businesses and workers.
Hyatt Hotels Corporation has officially opened Hyatt Place Jiaxing Nanhu, debuting the brand in the historic water town of Jiaxing, China. The new 241-room hotel expands Hyatt's presence in the Yangtze River Delta region, offering modern rooms, 24-hour dining and business amenities near South Lake.
Hilton has announced plans to introduce its premium economy brand, Spark by Hilton, to Italy following an agreement with ELE Spa. The 118-room Spark by Hilton Milan Linate Airport is scheduled to open later this year, situated near the terminal. This property will be the eleventh Hilton brand to establish a presence or enter the development pipeline across Italy.
