The venue forms the centrepiece of the Trafford Wharfside masterplan, a 150-hectare regeneration project backed by Trafford Council and regional authorities. The project aims to create 48,000 jobs and 15,000 homes, delivering a projected £7.3 billion annual boost to the UK economy.
The Snøhetta-designed Shanghai Grand Opera House will officially open on October 17, 2026. Currently entering its final development phase, the venue has scheduled 82 performances across 47 productions for its inaugural season, which runs until February 20, 2027. Hilton has announced plans to introduce its premium economy brand, Spark by Hilton, to Italy following an agreement with ELE Spa. The 118-room Spark by Hilton Milan Linate Airport is scheduled to open later this year, situated near the terminal. This property will be the eleventh Hilton brand to establish a presence or enter the development pipeline across Italy.
