Ennismore has announced the signing of The Hoxton, Madrid, set to open in 2026 in a landmark modernist building on Plaza de Santa Ana. The launch marks the brand’s first entry into the Spanish capital and follows the success of The Hoxton, Poblenou in Barcelona, which opened in 2022.

Occupying a prominent building by Jesús Carrasco-Muñoz y Encina, the hotel will feature 192 guestrooms and suites across five Hoxton categories. Interiors will draw inspiration from the surrounding neighbourhood, pairing simple palettes with plush textures, statement rugs and retro-influenced furniture to deliver the brand’s signature residential feel. Guests can expect hallmark Hoxton touches, including the Madrid edition of the Survival Guide, Roberts radios and Blank toiletries.

The open-plan lobby will serve as a social hub with an all-day coffee bar, lounge seating and relaxed workspace, designed to welcome both guests and locals. The hotel will also introduce Il Bambini Club to Madrid, a lively trattoria concept from Ennismore’s F&B platform with existing outposts in London and Paris, alongside rooftop venue Cayo Coco, offering cocktails, wine and relaxed dining with panoramic city views.

Events and private gatherings will be hosted in The Apartment, The Hoxton’s flexible meeting and social space. Refurbishment will be led by Petra AM with Urban Input Group, the team behind The Hoxton, Paris and Poblenou.

Positioned in the heart of Madrid’s cultural core, the hotel provides immediate access to major institutions including the Prado, Reina Sofía and Thyssen-Bornemisza museums, along with established dining, nightlife and theatre districts. Neighbourhood festivals such as San Isidro and Madrid Pride will place guests at the centre of the city’s cultural calendar.

Sharan Pasricha, Founder & Co-CEO of Ennismore, said the opening reflects the group’s confidence in Spain’s lifestyle hospitality market: “Madrid has long been on our radar, and this modernist gem of a building is going to be the perfect home for The Hoxton brand. The Hoxton’s pipeline is strong, with Madrid one of several openings across Europe alongside Oslo, Kraków and Hamburg, as well as Melbourne and Nashville.”

The Madrid project forms part of Ennismore’s wider growth across Spain. In 2025, the group launched SLS Barcelona, its first European property under the SLS brand. Previous openings include Mondrian and Hyde Ibiza in 2024, and SO/ Sotogrande, its first fashion-inspired all-inclusive resort.

Ennismore’s portfolio now spans over 190 hotels and 500 restaurants and bars globally, supported by dedicated in-house F&B, design, technology and partnerships studios.
