Global energy company TotalEnergies and investment firm KKR have signed an agreement to add 700 MW of renewable capacity to their US joint venture.

The transaction covers three utility-scale solar projects situated across Texas and Ohio. Representing an enterprise value of $1.2 billion, the assets are expected to reach commercial operation dates by the first quarter of 2027.

TotalEnergies created the 50/50 joint venture alongside KKR in 2025. Prior to this agreement, the partnership held a combined capacity of 1.4 GW across the US market.

Power generated by the three solar sites is either already sold under contract to third parties or will be marketed directly by TotalEnergies. TotalEnergies will retain operational control of all three assets following the completion of the transaction, which is scheduled for 2026, subject to standard closing conditions.
