Hyatt Hotels Corporation (NYSE: H) and Homeinns Hotel Group have signed a strategic master franchise agreement to launch the Hyatt Studios brand in China. The collaboration will bring 50 extended-stay Hyatt Studios hotels to emerging cities across the country, marking a major expansion in Hyatt’s upper-midscale portfolio and reinforcing both companies’ presence in one of the world’s most dynamic hospitality markets.
The agreement will see Homeinns Hotel Group develop and operate Hyatt Studios branded hotels in fast-growing business and leisure destinations throughout China. This initiative builds on the two groups’ successful partnership that previously introduced the UrCove by Hyatt brand to the Chinese market.
Part of Hyatt’s Essentials Portfolio, Hyatt Studios caters to the growing demand for extended-stay options by offering guests studio-style accommodations equipped with kitchenettes, workspaces, and modern amenities designed for long-term comfort. The brand is positioned to appeal to business and leisure travellers seeking contemporary, home-like stays at value-driven prices.
Stephen Ho, President – Greater China and Growth, Asia Pacific at Hyatt, said: “This agreement with Homeinns Hotel Group builds on our strategic path, enabling us to bring Hyatt’s brand and operational standards into a growing segment. In China, one of our most important markets, Hyatt Studios will strengthen our ability to serve more stay occasions in more cities, in alignment with our long-term strategy.”
David Sun, Chairman and CEO of Homeinns Hotel Group, said: “Our collaboration with Hyatt has always been guided by shared values, mutual trust, and a long-term vision for China’s hospitality market. Together, we have already demonstrated the strength of this collaboration through the successful launch of the UrCove brand. Building on that success, we are now extending our relationship into the extended-stay segment with Hyatt Studios. With the introduction of the brand, we look forward to crafting a localized, tailored experience for the Chinese market – especially for the younger generation of travelers.”
Owen Xing, Executive Managing Director, Growth & Operations, Greater China, Hyatt, added: “This agreement marks the next chapter of our collaboration with Homeinns Hotel Group and underscores Hyatt’s commitment to scaling our brands thoughtfully in China, a cornerstone market for our global growth. Over the next several years, we plan to add at least 50 Hyatt Studios hotels in first and second-tier cities across China.”
The Hyatt Studios concept was first introduced in 2023 and focuses on adaptable development models, efficient operations, and design flexibility suited to diverse local markets. Each hotel will offer spacious, studio-style rooms with key amenities such as free high-speed Wi-Fi, grab-and-go breakfast, self-service laundry, fitness facilities, and outdoor communal spaces.
The partnership aims to tap into China’s expanding demand for extended-stay accommodation, reflecting a broader trend among younger travellers and professionals who seek convenience, quality, and a sense of home while on the road.
