Vietnam is preparing to launch its first large-scale multi-functional sports park at the end of May 2026. Sun Sports City Ninh Binh is located inside the Sun Urban City mega-project in Ha Nam Ward, Ninh Binh Province. Developed by Sun Group, the complex covers a 22-hectare site positioned at the intersection of National Highway 1A and the Phap Van – Cau Gie – Ninh Binh Expressway, roughly 45 minutes from Hanoi.
The park features 58 training grounds designed to accommodate seven popular activities at the same time. These include mini football, tennis, basketball, volleyball, badminton, running and basic athletics. At the center of the project is a nearly 3,000-seat stadium scheduled for completion in August 2026. The stadium will house a FIFA-standard 11-a-side football pitch and an eight-lane athletics track built to host national tournaments.
A key feature of the development is a covered pickleball complex containing 41 PPA-standard courts. The site is divided into categories ranging from Deluxe to V-VIP. The V-VIP section includes an enclosed dome roof, stands for over 500 spectators, professional lighting and high-class food and beverage facilities. This infrastructure is designed to host future professional events, including the PPA Tour.
Operating as an open public space, the development contains a 1,900m jogging track and over 1,000 trees to provide shade. The architectural landmark of the park is a bronze model of five rings. This structure combines the Olympic rings with the Doi Tam drum, a cultural symbol of the local area. Future phases will add a four-season swimming pool, a gym, children’s play areas and commercial amenities to serve different generations.
The sports park connects directly to the wider Sun Urban City development, which includes Sun World Ha Nam water park, Times Square musical fountain and evening festival spaces. This design links athletic facilities directly with entertainment, resort and residential zones. Developers state that this integrated model marks a shift in how sports infrastructure is built in the country, combining daily exercise with community interaction and wider urban living.
