Rocco Forte Hotels has confirmed the appointment of four new General Managers across its portfolio, alongside leadership for the upcoming launch of The Carlton Milan. The changes highlight the group’s focus on operational excellence and guest experience as it continues its European growth.
Anna Gricini will take up the role of General Manager at Hotel de la Ville in Rome from 1 November. Gricini has been with Rocco Forte Hotels for 16 years, most recently as Regional Sales and Marketing Director, where she supported the opening of seven destinations in Italy, including Hotel Villa Igiea in Palermo and Masseria Torre Maizza in Puglia. Her earlier career includes positions with Hilton International, Starwood Hotels & Resorts, and the Dorchester Collection.
Maximilian Von Reden has been appointed General Manager of Hotel Amigo, Brussels, effective 3 November. He joins from Hotel Schweizerhof Bern & Spa, where he was General Manager since 2019. With over two decades of experience, Von Reden has held senior positions with Mandarin Oriental, Ritz-Carlton, Peninsula, and Kempinski, and previously led Mandarin Oriental properties in Prague and Jakarta.
In Florence, Hotel Savoy will welcome Matteo Gentile as its new General Manager on 3 November. Gentile has led operations for Lungarno Collection and has held roles at renowned destinations such as The Beverly Hilton, Waldorf Astoria Beverly Hills, and multiple Four Seasons properties. He also founded a hospitality consultancy in Los Angeles, advising on operations and strategy.
Ulrich Schwer will become General Manager of The Charles Hotel in Munich, moving from his role as General Manager of Hotel de Rome in Berlin. Schwer has built a 25-year career in luxury hospitality, with experience at The Savoy in London, The Plaza in New York, and Belmond La Samanna in St. Martin, among others.
Meanwhile, Francesco Roccato, Managing Director of Northern Italy, will lead the opening of The Carlton Milan, set for 6 November. Roccato has been with the group for seven years, having served as Cluster General Manager for Northern Italy and previously managing Hotel de la Ville and Rocco Forte House in Rome. He also brings international experience from Nobu Hotel Marbella, The Franklin London, and Hotel Lungarno Florence.
Rocco Forte Hotels, established by Sir Rocco Forte and Lady Olga Polizzi, currently operates 15 properties across Europe, with openings in Milan, Sardinia, and southern Italy scheduled over the next three years.
