Hilton has announced the debut of its Motto by Hilton brand in Australia with a new property in Sydney’s central business district. The signing of Motto by Hilton Sydney City Centre marks the introduction of Hilton’s seventh brand to the Australian market. Scheduled to open in late 2027, the hotel will offer 152 rooms with a focus on flexible design and social communal spaces for travellers.
The Queensland Performing Arts Centre (QPAC) has opened its 1,500-seat Glasshouse Theatre in Brisbane. Designed by Blight Rayner and Snøhetta, the venue features a unique rippling glass façade. This addition makes QPAC the largest integrated performing arts hub in Australia. The project incorporates First Nations narratives and advanced automation to support world-class productions. It is expected to attract 300,000 additional visitors to the region annually.
Stonepeak has confirmed a significant investment in the Australian retirement provider Aura Holdings. The deal involves up to A$1 billion in available capital through the investment and a development facility with domestic lenders. This funding will support Aura’s growth and its pipeline of new projects across Queensland. The Trump Organization has announced its first ever Australian project with the launch of a 91-storey hotel and residential tower on the Gold Coast. Partnering with Altus Property Group, the development is set to reach a height of 335 metres. The project will feature luxury apartments, a high-end hotel and an exclusive beach club in the heart of Surfers Paradise.
A significant $1 billion agreement has been reached to develop the first major residential and commercial precinct in Bradfield City, Australia. The partnership between the NSW Government and Plenary will see the construction of 1,400 homes alongside a new university campus and a luxury hotel. This project represents a foundational move in creating the first new Australian city in 100 years. Stage 1 is set to focus on essential services and public spaces over the next five years.
DigiCo Infrastructure REIT has appointed Michael Juniper as its new Chief Executive Officer and Managing Director, Digital Infrastructure. Juniper, who previously helped scale AirTrunk into a leading Asia-Pacific hyperscale platform, is expected to accelerate DigiCo’s data centre expansion to meet surging demand for cloud and AI services.
