The Ritz-Carlton Key Biscayne, Miami, an intimate resort set on seventeen acres of pristine beachfront, has officially reopened following a striking $100 million transformation. The renewal, the resort’s first comprehensive update in nearly twenty-five years, ushers in a new era of seaside glamour that combines modern coastal sophistication with timeless elegance.
Located just minutes from the vibrant energy of Miami, the resort’s redesign was led by developers Gencom and acclaimed studios Hart Howerton, DesignAgency, and Chapi Chapo Design. The transformation revitalised every corner of the secluded setting. The newly refashioned open-air architecture and a palette of sun-washed tones and natural textures are designed to create an immediate connection to the sea.
Derek Flint, Market General Manager, commented: “As we reopen our doors, we are honored to welcome guests back to our iconic beachfront enclave that has been an integral part of Miami’s glamorous legacy for decades. This next chapter of The Ritz-Carlton Key Biscayne, Miami celebrates our expansive landscape, luxury oceanfront accommodations and vibrant setting designed for global travelers and locals alike. We’ve created a resort intended to transport our guests and inspire celebration, reconnection and rejuvenation.”
The resort’s rejuvenated interior spaces welcome guests with a dramatic sweeping glass façade that frames panoramic views. An elevated island lifestyle is embodied through verdant greenery, open-air pathways, and expansive terraces.
Guest rooms and suites now feature stylish modern design with bespoke furnishings and colour palettes inspired by the sea and sand. The resort’s most expansive retreat is the Presidential Suite, which offers 2,620 square feet of living space, two bedrooms, two and a half baths, and a private balcony with panoramic ocean views.
The resort unveils a new and extensive culinary and cocktail programme across six distinct beachfront dining and cocktail destinations. Luma offers a Mediterranean-inspired escape with modern Italian cuisine. Along the shoreline, Paralía brings the vibrant flavours of the Aegean, focusing on fresh local seafood, meze platters, and grilled whole fish. The Rum Bar is an elegant lobby lounge nodding to Caribbean heritage, while Dune Beach Bar offers cocktails and sea-inspired small plates. The poolside dining is enriched by Stefano’s wood-fired pizzas and Scoop’s Dolce Vita gelato. The culinary collection is rounded out by Pura Vida Miami, an all-day wellness cafe, and Bissinger’s Handcrafted Chocolatier.
Wellness is central to the renewal with the debut of The Ritz-Carlton Spa, Key Biscayne. The 30,000-square-foot sanctuary features 16 treatment rooms, including three couples suites, a full-service salon, and restorative spaces such as the Sensory Spa Garden. The resort also features a revitalised oceanfront fitness centre, offering Tremble’s signature reformer-based programming and complimentary daily classes like yoga and stretching on the grand lawn.
Leisure options include an expanded lineup of water sports, refreshed pools, new cabanas, and the Cliff Drysdale Tennis Center, which now offers courts for tennis, pickleball, and padel. The new Ritz Kids Club provides an imaginative retreat for younger guests.
