Hive House, a 45-suite boutique hotel, has officially opened its doors in Cary, North Carolina, marking the debut of the first Hyatt-branded property in the town. The venue joins the Unscripted by Hyatt portfolio, expanding Hyatt’s footprint in a key market.
The independent development is owned, built and managed by Cary-based family firm CMC Hotels. Designed to offer a different take on extended-stay lodging, the hotel provides oversized suites ranging from 312 to 412 square feet, complete with full kitchens and separate living areas. The interior includes colourful decor, curated artwork and social spaces.
Guest amenities feature a fitness centre with Peloton equipment and smart-TV cardio machines, alongside free high-speed Wi-Fi throughout. The property also includes a 24-hour self-service laundry, a 24/7 market, a pet-friendly policy welcoming dogs up to 35 pounds for a $75 fee per stay, and flexible lobby spaces for work or leisure.
The on-site Hive House Café highlights local food and drink, offering fresh bakery goods and products from North Carolina makers. Featured regional brands include Trophy Brewing from Raleigh, Griff’s Toffee from Chapel Hill and Poppy Popcorn from Asheville.
“We started with the experience we wanted to create, not with a traditional brand prototype,” said Sheri Erhart, COO and Principal of CMC Hotels. “Hive House already had a strong identity and point of view. Joining the Unscripted by Hyatt brand gives us the opportunity to preserve what makes the hotel unique while introducing it to a much broader audience.”
Erhart added: “If someone is visiting us from another part of the country, we want them to discover Cary and North Carolina while they’re here. Maybe it’s a beer they’ve never tried, a North Carolina-made treat or something they end up taking home. Those little discoveries help connect guests to the place they’re visiting.”
“Hive House captures what Unscripted by Hyatt hotels are all about — a distinctive personality, a strong local point of view and an experience that is truly its own,” said Jason Ballard, SVP, Global Brand Leader for Hyatt’s Essentials Portfolio. “As the first Hyatt-branded hotel in Cary, Hive House also expands our portfolio in an important market and gives World of Hyatt members and guests a new way to experience the community. We’re excited to welcome the hotel and the CMC Hotels team to the Hyatt family.”
The property becomes part of Hyatt’s Essentials Portfolio, which includes select-service brands such as Caption by Hyatt, Unscripted by Hyatt, Hyatt Place, Hyatt House, Hyatt Studios, Hyatt Select and UrCove.
